Lewes FC Women 2025/26

Hello and welcome to the Dripping Pan to see the Rooks face off against Corsham Town.

It is the first time the two sides are facing each other and we are delighted to welcome our visitors to The Pan!

We hope everyone has an amazing afternoon and gets to experience the magic of the cup.

Today, mapped out!

Message from The Chairman

A very warm welcome to everyone at the Dripping Pan this afternoon especially our visitors from Corsham Town.

Whilst Lewes start their FA cup journey this afternoon, Corsham have already battled through the qualifying rounds to reach this stage of the cup and they will be determined to make the most of their visit to the historic Dripping Pan.

FA Cup matches are significant events in the Lewes calendar because it provides us with the opportunity to continue the campaign for an Equal FA Cup.

The mens version of the FA Cup is the oldest football competition in the world and has been contested for 154 years. The Womens FA Cup through various guises has been played for for 54 years meaning the mens game has had a 100 year start on the women.

Despite this significant disadvantage the women’s final now attracts close to sell out crowds at Wembley Stadium. But despite these significant strides made by the women the FA still believe that it is acceptable to provide a prize pot to the men that is nearly four times the amount of the women’s prize money.

So given that the women’s game has closed the gap on the mens game despite the men having a 100 year head start the FA remain completely deaf to following many other sports in equalisation of prize money for mens and women’s competitions.

The following link explains everything behind the Lewes FC Equal FA Cup campaign https://lewesfc.com/football-for-good/equal-prize-money-campaign/

Lets hope that it does not take the FA another 100 years to right this wrong.

I am expecting a great match this afternoon where both teams will want to continue their FA cup journeys and continue the magic of the cup.

Come on you Rooks
