We are back at The Pan in some league action!

Our Captain for the season

Paula Howells named Lewes captain.

The long-serving midfielder has been handed the armband for the upcoming season
after recently being inducted into the Lewes Hall of fame for her exceptional
contributions to the club.

Howells will take on this leadership role as she enters her seventh season at the
club, having scored 37 goals in 105 appearances and winning the Sussex cup three
times.

On her renewal for 2026-27, she said: “It feels right. There wasn’t really any doubt in
my mind where I was going to be this season. Everyone that knows me knows how
much I love this club.”

“I’ve found that Lewes is completely like home to me, and I want to make sure
everyone feels that as soon as they come in.”
“I’ve really enjoyed being part of the leadership group and working with those around
me to make this a nice, safe and fun environment to be in. And also a successfu
one.”

Howells will be assisted in leadership by vice-captain Ylenia Priest who is entering
her second season as a rook.

Priest said: “I think we had a really solid season in my first year at the club and I’m
excited to go again and build on that with a good group.

“I think personally you set your individual goals and try and do better year on year.
As a group I think we have the potential to have a really strong season and finish as
high in the table as possible. We’ve got high ambitions.”

The defender joined Lewes from Billericay Town last July and became a core
member of the squad, showing excellent leadership qualities.

On the Dripping Pan she said: “I absolutely love playing at home now. I love this
place; it really does feel like home. I look forward to home games more than I have
done at any other ground or club that I’ve been at.”

“I love our fans and I can’t wait to see you all next year.”
